Spring Dinner In The Shed- May 17th 6:30-9:30
We are really excited to celebrate Spring with this upcoming Dinner In The Shed. We’ve been blessed with some beautiful weather here in Seattle lately. Everything around us is coming back to life and our gardens are actually growing so we are going to turn it all into a beautiful family style dinner for you. We are also excited to have two amazing guests join us for the evening to serve up their delicious products.
We will start the evening off in the garden with Alice & Van from Set & Drift Shellfish serving up their incredible Fjordlux oysters they so beautifully grow in the intertidal waters of Washington’s north Hood Canal.
Alice & Van’s passion for local, sustainable seafood drove them to start Set & Drift farm following their years of operating ocean-going scientific research ships. They are a small farm, and grow with an eye for quality, not quantity. Fjordlux oysters are initially tumbled, then finished in flip-bags. Each flood of the tide delivers ocean-crisp sea water from Admiralty Inlet, while each ebb brings mineral-rich water from the Olympic Mountains to their Fjordlux oysters. The result is savory and briny with a long finish of nori and melon rind.
We will then sit down at the communal table for 3 courses of ALL the Spring things!
Our second guest, winemaker and vineyard consultant Bill Snyder, will be pairing his insanely delicious natural wines with each course. Bill specializes in white and rosé wines and loves sourcing fruit from conscientiously-farmed vineyards with distinctive natural features. He uses a non-interventionist winemaking style to allow his wines to serve as time capsules for where and when the grapes were harvested. BONUS, if you like what you taste, you’ll be able to purchase bottles of his exclusive wines to take home with you!
Come spend the evening with us celebrating good food and good company! ~ Stephanie & Karra
In The Shed is a project practicing slow living, sharing time together and supporting makers searching for their individual passions through making (mostly useful) handmade 'things'. Stay up to date on when the pop ups are happening by following Karra on Instagram @intheshed_seattle
